Board Bio - Amy Mais

Amy Mais is the mother of two grown children and an eighteen year old son who is on the autism spectrum.  Her son, Garrison, was diagnosed with profound infantile autism at the age of 17 months.  Over the past 17 years, her family has been able to provide him with the critical interventions and therapies that ultimately changed the course of his life.  Today, at 18 years of age, Garrison is happy, healthy, and has a meaningful and productive life despite his numerous challenges and limitations.

Amy is a Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude graduate of Georgetown University and received a law degree from Ohio State College of Law.  When her children were young, Amy retired from the workforce to be a full time mom.  As her children have grown older, she has become an active community volunteer and supports several valley organizations.  Amy also enjoys writing and advocating for children, animals, and numerous community causes.

"It is our family's mission to ensure that every child and family impacted by autism, regardless of income, education, or economic status, have access to the interventions, therapies, and supports that lead to positive outcomes. It is time to fill in the gaps and make sure that every child has the supports necessary to thrive and succeed."
